NEWS!.... FLASH: We are in the process of upgrading our apple orchard. We have planted 6 new cultilvars on dwaft root stock. We are also reducing the present cultilvars to a more managable number. We have found that for our operation we do not need many trees of each cultilvar to meet our sales needs.

Since our main business model involves year around farm market sales, we need apples which can be stored for sales into April ,of the next year. One apple that fills this requirement is Gold Rush, another is Fuji.

The next improvement is to use dwafting roots stock like B9 and M9 which products a tree with a height of 8 to 10 feet. Less time to pick and prune the trees. The present trees on M111 root stock are 20 to 24 feet high. They produce 10 to 12 bushels per tree but take forever to pick and prune.

Proper pruning will produce better apples, reduces threat of diseases and helps us with our transtional spray program. We like to complete our spraying by mid June. We use biological controls for the balance of the apple growing seasons with very good results. Half of our trees are scab resistant from the PRI program.

We have completed picking our apples. We have recovered from last year crop failure due the freeze during bloom. The apples crop is very good and we will be have a good crop of all cultivars. Click on "Our Apples" for more details.

We held our apple dumpling festival this years on the first Saturday of October.

We have added new items that can be purchased on line using PayPal. To see that page you can click on the Apple Button "ORDER USING PAYPAL". Along with the Apple dumplings, Famous and Sugar Free, we have added our Apple Peeler which was shown on our FOOD FINDS episode.
